47th Annual AMTNYS Summer Workshop

Hopefully the AMTNYS Summer Workshop at Siena was as exciting and useful for everyone attendance as it was for me. It was a great three days of ideas, ideas, and more ideas. I believe summer conferences really demonstrate just what outstanding educators exist; those who are willing to give up three days of beautiful summer weather to remain indoors. Although at this point, we may not exactly know where New York State is headed with the Common Core State Standards, I'm sure after this year's summer AMTNYS workshop we all have a better idea of how we can tackle the standards, and continue teaching great mathematics.

At the 2011 AMTNYS Summer Workshop I presented STEM Modeling in the Secondary Setting to Deepen Understanding. Here are all of the files from the presentation, please feel free to download them and make them your own to use in your classroom. Also, if you modify the lessons, I'd love to see how you modified them, please send them to me (not a requirement to use them, I just enjoy seeing where these ideas take you).
